Caleta de Fuste
Caleta de Fuste

Caleta de Fuste (also known as Costa Caleta and El Castillo) is a purpose built holiday resort, so there is no significant old town here. The resort was created around the original cove to provide a great environment for water sports and activities.  Caleta de Fuste is one of the closest parts of the Canary Islands to Africa.

The large gently shelving lagoon beach at Caleta de Fuste has been created from pale golden sand, and has undergone extensive work during 2008 and 2009 to make it the beautiful beach that it is today.  You can relax and enjoy the sun, or partake in the multitude of water sports on this and further beaches created parallel to the Sheraton and Elba Carlotta Hotels and the Atlantico commercial centre.

The Atlantico centre has a large supermarket (Spar), cinema, bowling alley, arcade, shops, bars and restaurants. There is a Burger King in the centre and a McDonald’s just across the road. The restaurants provide varying cuisines, sure to provide for each and every palate.

The harbour is a perfect way to spend a lazy afternoon, watching the world go by. There is an oceanarium in the harbour area, submarine and catamaran, where trips can be arranged for a spot of dolphin or whale watching or exploring the under-sea world. The harbour is also home to many yachts, offering a beautiful backdrop in the evenings so you can sit back in one of the cafes or beach bars and relax enjoying the sea view.

The apartment complexes are in three main areas, the central town of Caleta de Fuste, Nuevo Horizonte, now called Costa Antigua, to the north, and Chipmunk Mountain to the east (which is not really a mountain, but is slightly uphill).

A great place for families and couples alike, whether you want a tranquil and quiet complex, or a family orientated complex to keep the kids entertained, you will find it here in Caleta de Fuste.
